Genre Research: Horror

 This PowerPoint is a project I was instructed to do that is based on the horror genre. I worked on this PowerPoint in the beginning of the year with another student. We were asked to pick a genre from a list of other genres, and research it. Our research consisted of common lighting, camera angles, movements, Mise-En-Scene, elements of horror, example films, common sounds and what we like and dislike about the genre. I have noticed that this PowerPoint has been altered because the slide where I explained my dislikes about the genre is missing. Since this assignment didn't involve meeting in person, it was quite simple to complete. My partner and I split the amount of slides somewhat evenly, which means we each had a responsibility to finish our part of the project. I did the slides that involved videos, the Mise-En-Scene, the common angles and my dislikes about the genre. My partner did the common lighting, elements, film examples, and the likes about the genre. I knew how to add the videos in and edit them so I chose to be responsible for it. I have split emotions about the horror genre, but one thing I really don't like is being scared. This is why I did the dislikes about the horror genre. My partner enjoys everything about horror films, video games etc. I always jump and close my eyes when I predict that something bad is going to happen. I do not enjoy the adrenaline rush, and suspense as much as others, but I still find it entertaining. In the PowerPoint, we decided to use 3 picture examples, and 2 video examples. The picture examples were researched and taken from Google. The video examples were also researched on Google, but they are from YouTube. I used my phone and screen recorded those scenes, and then uploaded it to my personal computer to include them in. I also added some eerie music in the title slide using a link from YouTube. My partner and I got right to work as soon as we were assigned the project. We timed our work out well and finished without any unnecessary stress.

  Filming this music video was somewhat complicated. Procrastination and my being shy played a big part in the delay of filming. From the beginning of the process of making this music video, I already had a plan. The song "Halfway There" came to me because it was stuck in my head. I thought it would be the perfect song to use due to its positive message, and the fact that it is school appropriate as well. In my music video, I did my best to give off an optimistic vibe in the video, but it was somewhat difficult. Planning Storyboard for my Music Video

 This storyboard represents how I would like the process of filming the music video for the song Halfway There. I will try to meet my own expectations and hope everyone follows through with my ideas. The first box is what I need to do in order to begin the filming process, which is to go to North Carolina to be with my family. The second one is how I will approach the idea of including my cousin and family in the video. I will then make sure they are ok with being on camera, and part of the music video.
