Title Research: Hubie Halloween

This opening sequence is from the movie Hubie Halloween. I found this movie on the Art of the Title website. I will be answering the following questions about this opening sequence:

What titles are displayed during the opening sequence?
In the opening sequence, there are a total of 14 different types of titles. These titles are the director, the writers, the producers, the executive producers, the co-producers, the director of photography, the production designer, the editors, the costume designer, who the music is by, who the casting is by, the names of the actors who played each character, who the film is by, and the film title.

What images are prioritized  in the opening scene?
Majority of the opening sequence contains clips of one of the writers, producers and cast member Adam Sandler. These clips are Adam Sandler being scared by people and things, and having last minute reactions to scary objects . The rest of the images are the introductions and bloopers of the other cast members. 

What connotations do these images carry?
Adam Sandler being scared by things represents the horror aspect of the film. Adam Sandler being scared by things that aren't that scary, and the bloopers of him and the other cast members represents the comedic aspect of the film.

How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset?
The film's title includes "Halloween", which is what the movie seems to be based around. The Halloween decorations, costumes, and compilation of Adam Sandler being scared represents the Horror genre indubitably. 

What strategies are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience?
The film's main genre is Horror, but it has some Comedy in it. The goal is to scare and make people laugh. An important part of the opening sequence is once again, Adam Sandler's jump scares. This represents the Horror genre by the pauses on his face as he indeed reacts in horror. 

How has technology been used effectively? 
A ghost effect is added on to create a duplicate of him, along with vintage filters that match the theme of the film. The bloopers excite the viewers, and serve as a good laugh. The bloopers represent the Comedy that is found in the remained of the movie. The raw interaction between the cast and the audience keeps the viewers interested in finishing the movie.

  Filming this music video was somewhat complicated. Procrastination and my being shy played a big part in the delay of filming. From the beginning of the process of making this music video, I already had a plan. The song "Halfway There" came to me because it was stuck in my head. Genre Research: Horror

 This PowerPoint is a project I was instructed to do that is based on the horror genre. I worked on this PowerPoint in the beginning of the year with another student. We were asked to pick a genre from a list of other genres, and research it. Our research consisted of common lighting, camera angles, movements, Mise-En-Scene, elements of horror, example films, common sounds and what we like and dislike about the genre. I have noticed that this PowerPoint has been altered because the slide where I explained my dislikes about the genre is missing. Planning Storyboard for my Music Video

 This storyboard represents how I would like the process of filming the music video for the song Halfway There. I will try to meet my own expectations and hope everyone follows through with my ideas. The first box is what I need to do in order to begin the filming process, which is to go to North Carolina to be with my family. The second one is how I will approach the idea of including my cousin and family in the video. I will then make sure they are ok with being on camera, and part of the music video.
