Research Blog: Commercial Conventions
I am doing a commercial using a Ninja Foodi 9-in-1 Pressure, Broil, Dehydrate, Slow Cooker, Air Fryer, and More. This commercial will be a test run of the product and exploring the different functions of it. The person testing it out is going to be someone new to cooking. Seeing as there is a recipe book included, it should be easy enough for them to follow the directions. The commercial will take place in the kitchen in the evening since they will be cooking Herb-Roasted Chicken. The props include the Ninja Foodi Cooker, a chopping board, knives, 4 plates, something to stir with, 1 whole uncooked chicken, 1/4 cup of hot water, the juice of 2 lemons, a measuring cup, tablespoons, and the seasonings for the chicken. The appearance of the new chef will be a short-sleeve shirt, long comfortable jeans, no hand or arm jewelry, and an apron. His or her hair should be tied back if their hair is lengthy. The commercial would have two different types. One commercial would just include clips from the cooking experience so it isn't too long. The majority of this commercial will be using the cooker. For example, there will be less prepping of the chicken, and more of setting the cooker to the pressure cooking settings and etc. The other would be longer, showing more of the features of the cooker. This commercial will include equal footage of the cooking journey and the functions of the Ninja Foodi Cooker. The commercial is meant to show how easy people can follow the instructions given in the guide, and how the positive reviews given about the cooker are accurate. The commercial isn't meant to be on a serious professional level. The person cooking will be new to it, so it's normal for them to be confused, and just figuring things out. Of course, this will be the first time the new cook will use the cooker to make the experience more authentic. The camera will be less focused on the person using the product. The camera will make sure to always include clear, crip footage of the buttons pressed, the brand of the cooker, and the quality of the chicken. The commercial will also include how easy the Ninja Cooker is to clean. It is dishwasher safe, and any remaining seasonings or oils wash off very easily. The commercial will serve as proof that the cooker lives up to its name and it will not be a waste of money.
