My Music Video
Filming this music video was somewhat complicated. Procrastination and my being shy played a big part in the delay of filming. From the beginning of the process of making this music video, I already had a plan. The song "Halfway There" came to me because it was stuck in my head. I thought it would be the perfect song to use due to its positive message, and the fact that it is school appropriate as well. In my music video, I did my best to give off an optimistic vibe in the video, but it was somewhat difficult. When it came down to filming the video, my cousin, my sister, and I worked as a team to obtain quality footage for the music video. In some parts of the video, the ecstasy was forced because we are not overly happy people. On the other hand, we did have some genuine moments of fun for other parts of the music video. The quality, the outfits how I planned them, the interaction, the acting, and the editing of the video are the things I am most proud of. The aspect I am least proud of is the way I procrastinated filming for this video. Had I filmed on the days where the weather was how I preferred it, I would have gotten better footage. This is a thought, but I have no regrets because I was there to spend time with my family during my break. Although, I do wish I got it done ahead of time, even though it wasn't late. Since I was being filmed by people I am very comfortable with, staying serious was challenging. For me, being recorded for something serious is awkward and nerve-wracking. I am more of an introvert than an extrovert, even around friends and family. I have my moments of being shy, and self-isolation, which makes being social hard for me. I knew I had to get it done regardless, so I sucked it up, and all was fine in the end. Despite how I felt during the filming process, I feel that it was better to have filmed with people I know well rather than people who are here to just get down to business.
